I was named after my great-grandfather on my mother’s side. He was a mechanical engineer who was thoughtful, patient, and kind. I saw him often growing up. He taught me to hunt, fish, shoot, and woodwork. He passed away when I was a teenager and, because of family politics, the only momento I had was a compass he gave me. Fast forward to a little over ten years ago when my mother surprised me with one of his rifles that she had hid away and been keeping for me. This was very special to me, because he had been a very well known gunstock maker. He had made custom stocks for many people over the years, and had started teaching me the skill shortly before he passed. This rifle was equipped with one of his last handmade stocks.
When I took the rifle out of its case, the sling, an old style military leather one, disintegrated on the spot. For some reason this distressed me greatly and I was resolved to replace it exactly. So, I started watching a lot of tutorial videos, made many trips to a hobby store, and bought a ton of specialized tools (some of which I threw away once I knew what I was doing). Eventually, the fourth try was what I was after (tries two and three became dog leashes). Then I made one for my son, a close friend, and a coworker…
More slings followed, a few belts, knife sheaths, gun holsters, dog collars and leashes, walkie talkie holsters, wallets, a purse (that was HARD). Basically, anything people asked me to take a stab at. Each piece I finished got other people to gush and ask if I could make something for them. I usually asked for a few dollars to cover costs and tried to make whatever they wanted. It became a very fun hobby.
During this time, I spent a lot of time away from my Natasha. Things had been bad and they got worse. Communication was at an all time low for us and separation was my fear and hope. The shop and leather work was easier to deal with than the failing marriage.
I found D/s, I met Sir (who has been an amazing friend and mentor), my sub gave me her submission and my world turned upside down! In a very good way! As many of you can relate, when you start D/s, you start looking at toys. Every cuff and collar I looked at was disappointing. Overpriced, unfinished, poorly made, the list goes on. I went to many stores and shops, checked out many, many online offerings, and was disappointed. Natasha always said the same thing, “you could do better Sir”.
So I did better. I have made many sets of cuffs and collars for friends, and I feel that my skill finally meets my standards. I am confident that my leather work is some of the best available. I do not cut corners, I do not skimp on production. I build each cuff as if I were going to put it on my own precious Natasha. If I wouldn’t use it, why would you? Each cuff or collar is custom cut, assembled, and stitched by me, by hand. Over the years I have found and tested the best materials from the best suppliers and am eager to craft something for you.
Gradually I will add more and more items for sale on TheTopsBottomDrawer. Leashes, stays, straps, girdles, wand harnesses, etc.
If you have an idea, I have the leather.
The images below show some of my processes, enjoy!

I have personally seen what you have made (Hunter and Renn) and was just blown away at the skill. You have an incredible artistic gift. The memory of your grandfather is sweet. What a lasting legacy he left you!

Thanks for your kind words. I am flattered that you appreciate my handiwork. It is my hope that my grandfather would approve of the skills I have worked so hard for. Thanks again.

The one listed as Custom Leather Collar. Yes I made that one, you've seen that particular one in person...I need to take more pictures as I finish my products.

First of all, those cuffs and collars look AMAZING!!! I am inspired to wear a collar looking at that one. The prices are very reasonable too. We have scoured the internet and other shops as well and been disappointed too. I'm super excited to try a pair of your cuffs! I'll have MasterOfAngels look at them ASAP as we are looking for a new pair.
Is it possible to add a second round ring to the D rings? It gives them more ability for a bit of twisting action while wearing them.
Also, what types of animal hide do you work with?

Do you mean a double ring? Or a ring within a ring? I can get a screw shut DRing and add another o ring if that is what you mean.
I use cow hide, but have worked with bison and deer. I hesitate to use anything other than cow, since it is hard to get other hides dye ready. They are usually pre-dyed.

I meant a ring within a ring. We had a pair of cuffs with a triangle shaped ring attached to the cuff that had a round, welded *I think* ring that linked like chain. It was amazing except the rest of the cuff was not amazing and we can no longer use them. It is a thing of convenience really because you could just as easily connect a something to it. The triangle brings the circle link back to the top pretty much no matter how you twist in them. We also found that it saves wear on attachment points that are in wood.

A triangle? Never seen the like, interesting idea though. I like to stick with the hardware I currently use. Very high quality solid brass, cast not welded, VERY strong.

A great read. I see myself . Trying to hard to please. And now understand I'm taking from his power. So happy I found this site. Will help me be a better sub
I'm stunned by how much of this reflects our situation, I wish I could talk to you more in depth about it, but thank you for the insights! :)
This post is amazing. I feel the biggest struggle my Dom and I have in regards to the lifestyle, is exactly described in this article. It’s to easy for the Vanilla to overtake my Dom, and I return, I become guarded with my submission and then the...
This was very enllightening...thanks
Sorry for the double comments
As a new Dom these issues have been so hard to control for both of us we have had to take a break from the lifestyle. We both need this in our marriage to be fulfilled completely. She tends to get overly upset and lash out when she’s frustrated....
As a new Dom I obviously have a lot to learn to care for my wife/sub. Unfortunately we have had to put aside the D/s relationship for a while due to me not being able to control my emotional response. Also controlling her emotional responses when...
